Guide
How to use the Chord Detector
How to use it
Mark the fret your finger is on for every string you play. A string can carry just one note, so picking a new fret moves the mark and a brief message confirms the change. Open strings are marked in the first column, next to the string's name.
Reading the result
The analysis panel lists the notes, intervals, the chord quality (major, minor, dominant…), the bass note from the lowest string and possible chord names. The same notes can have several names (C6 and Am7 share the same tones, for example); the bass note decides which name comes first. Compatible scales shows what you can solo with over this chord.
Tips
You also hear each note as you tap it. Use Clear to reset the selection. Note spelling (C# or Db) follows the detected chord.
