İlgili Minör

Her minör dizi, bir majör dizi ile aynı notalardan oluşur, fakat notalar farklı sırayla dizilmiştir. Bu durumun tersi de geçerlidir; aynı şekilde her majör dizi de, bir minör dizi ile aynı notalardan oluşur. Her majör tonunun, altıncı derecesindeki minör tonuyla ilgili bir ilişkisi vardır. Bu ilişki, aynı notaların kullanıldığı ancak farklı bir ton merkezine sahip iki ton arasında gerçekleşir. Majör bir dizideki 6. nota (dizinin 6. derecesi) temel ses kabul edilip dizi yeniden sıralanırsa ilgili minör dizisi bulunmuş olur.

Örneğin, C(Do) majör dizisini ele alalım;

C(Do) D(Re) E(Mi) F(Fa) G(Sol) A(La) B(Si) C(Do)

C(Do) majörün altıncı derecesindeki nota, A(La)'dır. Dolayısıyla, C(Do) majörün ilgili minörü A(La) minördür. C(Do) majör ve A(La) minör, aynı nota dizisine sahiptir, ancak farklı bir ton merkezine sahiptirler.

Şimdi de, G(Sol) majör dizisini ele alalım;

G(Sol) A(Al) B(Si) C(Do) D(Re) E(Mi) F#(Fa diyez) G(Sol)
