I. Degree - Ionian (Major Mode)
The Ionian mode gives a bright and happy feeling. It is used in most pop and classical music.
II. Degree - Dorian
The Dorian mode has a slightly melancholic but strong structure. It is frequently used in jazz and blues music.
III. Degree - Phrygian
The Phrygian mode evokes Eastern mysticism and exotic melodies. It is frequently seen in flamenco and metal music.
IV. Degree - Lydian
Lydian creates a space feeling and mystical tones. It is frequently used in film music.
V. Degree - Mixolydian
The Mixolydian mode is the foundation of rock and blues. It carries a cheerful but slightly rebellious air.
VI. Degree - Aeolian (Natural Minor Mode)
The Aeolian mode has sad and dramatic melodies. It is frequently used in most pop and classical music.
VII. Degree - Locrian
Locrian is the most tense and dark mode. It is preferred in experimental and progressive music.
